Doug Struyk: Advocate for Iowa's Children...

Iowa's children are a high priority for Doug. He has consistently voted to:

• fund class-size reduction initiatives
• increase teacher saleries
• to increase funding for Iowa's Community Colleges

Doug also worked with local and state officials to keep a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program in Council Bluffs. CASA is a program that uses volunteers across the state to advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system. CASA protects children by getting them out of foster care and into a safe, permanent home faster.
